2006-04-28 Game On

What a session! After 2 weeks off we actually produced the best session we've had so far. We were fresh, we were not tired, and the songs sounded very together. Kyle's drums were so much better, and he let himself go a bit with a few rolls (as well as smashing a tom), which was excellent! Steve's guitar riffs were very experimental, and loose enough to allow some extraordinary breaks! Very impressive.

The song which didn't turn out so well was Don't Lose Your Nerve, but that is always going to be a tricky one. Songs we covered:
  • Weapon Of Choice
  • Closedown
  • Am I Close
  • Warm
  • Advice
  • Burn
  • Inner Moment
  • Don't Lose Your Nerve
New songs introduced, and to be finalised:
  • Come To Me
  • Midnight Cries (Lyrics need attention)
  • Stars
Songs which are in the pipeline:
  • Seen To Be Worn
  • Winter's Here
  • Waiting All These Years
  • Not Holding Back
  • Corner Me (piano guitar rendition)
Kyle asked us how serious we were about the band, as he was about to buy his new drum kit - I made my intentions clear - I would not be wasting my time if I was not serious. Stephen was a little more cautious, and said we should get into a studio. I think Kyle was happy, and is excited about getting on stage, and a new drum kit.

A session I can smile about, as now I feel we are moving forward. New tunes are important, and we need to keep things fresh.
