2006-09-06 Your Lucks Changing

Well, it seems that we have finally got an understanding, and it is great! Everyone can feel that we are very close to where we want to be, and it is feeling quite exciting. Band names aside, we have finalised a set that everyone, bar Duffy due to Weapon, is happy with.

The consensus was that Casualty, my most recent song, is now in the set replacing DLYN. It does sound wicked, and everyone likes it a lot, so that is all we need. We will revisit DLYN later, as it is a good song that people do like, but needs work, as well as a bit of thought. Kyle needs to decide on his drums, and when he does, it will sound awesome!

So the final set list is:
  • Come To Me
  • Casualty
  • Closedown
  • Weapon of Choice
  • Inner Moment
  • Am I Close?
Now that is a powerful set! The only problem song is Weapon, and that should be sorted by next week!

Again Steve's guitars were excellent. He played with a capo, which did add a few different sounds. Duffy's bass is sounding more confident, although we did spend a while on Weapon, the intention to make his bassline simpler, but not sure Kyle and I did that though. In the end, we swapped instruments, and played Weapon, which was pretty funny!

Almost there, 3 or 4 more rehearsals, then we should be ready to set a date. Nice one!

2006-09-05 Almost Here

Well, another strange week - our jam session last Thursday was a little short, and mediocre, but progress was made. People were unsure about a double session this week - still can't understand why, so I decided not to, and to have 2 next week.

We're still trying to decide on a name, and what started as an amusing jaunt, has ended up stressing people out quite unnecessarily, but hopefully it has settled down now, and that we can talk constructively about a decent name.

I'm taking it quite relaxed, and seeing what people have to offer, but I am not going to take a name that I don't like - nor will the others, so we just have to keep plodding on.

Set list same as last week, but Weapon and DLYN we are still having trouble with...even after all this time! Some practice at home is needed, me thinks...
